Planned projects can only move forward if they are: Justified by actual demand, environmentally approved and financially feasible - Rhonda Hamm-Niebruegge, Director, St. Louis Lambert International Airport.
Last week, Rhonda Hamm-Niebruegge, Director of St. Louis Lambert International Airport, presented on the topic of airport updates to members of Progress 64 West at the Doubletree Hotel in Chesterfield. The monthly luncheon, part of P64's Speaker Series, is a venue for thought leaders and regional leadership eager to share what's going on in and around the region.
Hamm-Niebruegge provided important insight relating to the regions current and future trends of economic development. One of her most recent tasks has been to make sure that the public understands the purpose of the document and that it is an important step in the process. There is still much to be decided. Among other things, the plan:
• Provides a blueprint for expected airport development
• Completed every 8-10 years, last plan in 2012
• Needed to continue receiving FAA funding
• Plans for 20-year period
• Requires public input
• Followed by multiple steps before construction
