Rhonda Hamm-Niebruegge, the Director of St. Louis Lambert International Airport, has announced a major renovation project for the airport. The $2.8 billion remodel will consolidate the airport's two existing terminals into a single, larger terminal with up to 62 gates. The project, designed by the St. Louis-based architecture firm HOK, aims to improve passenger flow, expand retail spaces, and enhance amenities to meet increased passenger demand. Hamm-Niebruegge emphasized the importance of this project in making the airport more cohesive and efficient. The renovation is part of a long-term master plan approved by the FAA and is expected to be completed in stages, with the first phase opening at the end of 2028 and the entire terminal finished by early 2032.

On February 20, 2025, at the Doubletree Hotel in Chesterfield, Rhonda will give P64 members and guests insight into this very important project .

Airport remodels enhance passenger demand by improving the travel experience. Modern facilities with better navigation, efficiency, and accessibility make travel more pleasant. Upgraded amenities like retail spaces, lounges, and dining options attract travelers and increase spending. Sustainable features appeal to eco-conscious passengers. A seamless, enjoyable, modern environment boosts satisfaction and loyalty, driving demand.
