Across the St. Louis region, a growing network of greenways is quietly reshaping how people connect with parks, neighborhoods, business districts, and natural resources. What began as a regional vision has evolved into an important form of infrastructure that influences mobility, economic development, and quality of life.
That’s why the upcoming Progress 64 West luncheon featuring Great Rivers Greenway is such an important conversation for our members.
On March 19, Progress 64 West will welcome Mark Perkins, CEO, and Todd Antoine, Chief of Planning & Projects, to discuss how greenways are shaping connectivity and opportunity across the region.
Since voters approved the initiative in 2000, Great Rivers Greenway has helped develop more than 120 miles of Greenways connecting communities throughout St. Louis City, St. Louis County, and St. Charles County. These projects do more than create trails. They connect people to parks, improve access to natural resources, and increasingly influence where people choose to live, work, and invest.
For regions competing to attract talent and business investment, amenities like greenways are becoming an important part of the equation. They strengthen quality of place, encourage outdoor recreation, and help create vibrant, connected communities.
For the business and civic leaders who make up Progress 64 West, this conversation matters. Greenways intersect with many of the issues shaping our region’s future—from economic development and land use to mobility and community vitality.
We hope you’ll join us for this important discussion.
